Rosie Phillips, also known as Rosalia Phillips and Lady Ro, is the administrative assistant at La Sierra University Church in Riverside, California, and plans to pursue further studies toward chaplaincy.

Community care in action

Since joining the La Sierra University Church office in 2017, Rosie has helped coordinate day-to-day office operations, communications, program planning, and practical support for pastoral staff and the community. Her service includes support for the Wednesday food pantry, neighbors experiencing homelessness, DivorceCare, the Blanket Club, sewing groups, and the Wellness Warehouse. She also helps with clothing donations made available at no cost to people who need them. Her community connections extend across Riverside and Orange counties in Southern California.

A calling shaped by experience

Rosie’s faith is expressed through listening, prayer, and practical care. Her Seventh-day Adventist church background and experience in community service shape her desire to welcome people with curiosity and respect. She has a special heart for immigrant and youth communities and for people navigating difficult seasons. Her message centers on the unconditional love of Jesus: every person has a story, and everyone deserves to be welcomed with compassion.

Preparing for chaplaincy

Rosie has completed biblical studies and theology coursework and plans to resume her education as she prepares for a future in chaplaincy. She is especially interested in caring for people in prison and remains open to other settings where spiritual support is needed. Her approach begins with listening and seeks to offer hope, dignity, and practical care.

The Lady Ro Journal

The Lady Ro Journal is Rosie Phillips’s independent personal Christian publication. Known here as Lady Ro, she writes about Scripture, prayer, community, and everyday life with Jesus for readers in Riverside, Orange County, and beyond. The Journal welcomes Christians across denominations and anyone exploring faith or seeking encouragement. Her employment at La Sierra University Church is part of her biography; the Journal is not operated, sponsored, or endorsed by the church or La Sierra University.

“Jesus loves you in every season of life.”
